At the age of sixteen, Stevie discovered hairdressing, the perfect profession to express her punk-rock aesthetic. For nine years she trained with Atlanta’s top stylists, working with a diverse clientele, as she cultivated her technical prowess.
In 1993, she moved to Chicago, joining Sine Qua Non, where as Art Director she helped develop the innovative curriculum for the in-house apprenticeship program. As mentor and perpetual student, Stevie has worked tirelessly to develop her talents through workshops and classes with Wella, Aveda, Toni & Guy, Bumble and Bumble, and Vidal Sassoon. Most recently Stevie has become a Certified Wella Master Expert as well as an educator for the Wella Design Team.
As a highly regarded colorist and stylist, Stevie has an extraordinary sense of how to illuminate a client’s individual beauty. She's that rare stylist who excels at both color and styling, and her repertoire ranges from the classic to the avant-garde. Her work has been featured in magazines, such as Allure, Chicago Social and Chicago Bride. She’s also appeared on WGN Midday News, Ambush Makeover, In the Loop with IVillage. She’s styled actors, dancers, and models in a wide range of venues, including theatre, television, movies, and fashion shoots. Now she's working both sides of the camera, as stylist and photographer. For Stevie, hairdressing is no mere profession, it's her passion and joy.
